Polaroid PoGo Creates Digital Instant Photos

Polaroid Pogo

The Polaroid picture is entering the digital age. Polaroid, the company that pioneered the instant photo 60 years ago, recently introduced the Pogo. The Polaroid Pogo uses a revolutionary process to transform digital photos stored on your mobile phone and digital camera into instant printed pictures.

The Polaroid PoGo is an inkless printer about the size of a deck of cards. The PoGo receives pictures from mobile phones and digital cameras using a Bluetooth or USB connection. The PoGo is the easiest way to print photos from your camera phone. You can wirelessly transfer images from your Bluetooth-enabled camera phone to the PoGo and print instantly. You can connect and print to the PoGo instantly using the built-in OBEX (object exchange profile) Bluetooth in your phone.

The PoGo prints full-color digital photos in 60 seconds without using ink cartridges or ribbons. Best of all – the pictures are instantly dry. The PoGo uses a technology called ZINK™, an inkless technology which Polaroid has spent decades developing. ZINK uses a special paper comprised of an advanced composite material that holds cyan, yellow and magenta dye crystals in a protective coat. Before printing, the paper appears white because the crystals are colorless. The PoGo uses a heat activation process to colorize the crystals, creating high quality images in less time than a traditional Polaroid photo.
