Pairing
Pairing of the MotoPure H12 Headset is extremely easy. Using a Motorola Razor phone, I simply set up the phone itself and let it find the headset (Please note: a Motorola phone is NOT required. Any compatible Bluetooth phone will pair with the MotoPure H12). After that, every time I turned on the headset, it automatically paired with the phone within a couple seconds. During the entire testing time of this unit, I never experienced any issues with pairing.
Battery Life and Charging
Motorola states that the talk time on the MotoPure H12 Bluetooth Headset is approximately 5.5 hours, and based on the usage I put it through without charging, this estimate seems fairly accurate. If the unit is turned off when hands-free communication is not really needed, the battery life is more than sufficient.
Charging is simple with two ways to keep the MotoPure H12 in full power mode. A desktop charger is offered that is stylish and discrete, with an easy to use magnetic contact attachment. It was easy to place the headset on the charger and the magnetized contacts ensured that the headset stayed in place. Also offered is a compact carrying case that doubles as a handy charging unit. This case offers protection when traveling with the MotoPure H12 and also has a outer plug that allows charging while the headset is still in the case.
Style and Comfort
This is where the MotoPure H12 shines. My experience with the headset indicates that Motorola obviously put some serious thought into the comfortable fit and contemporary style of the MotoPure H12. For most users, comfort is one of the most problematic issues experienced with Bluetooth headsets, second only to functionality. The H12 utilizes a thin, clear plastic ear loop that easily slips over the ear and securely holds the ear piece without having to bend it to fit properly. In most cases, even after extended use, the H12 was almost unnoticeable and caused none of the typical soreness experienced with other headsets. Soft rubber ear sleeves are offered to accommodate a variety of ear sizes and though none of them fit perfectly into my own ear, I found at least one that stayed put well enough to hear effectively. The entire unit was surprisingly lightweight and incredibly comfortable.
Stylistically, the H12 features a subtle, yet artistically modern appeal. The headset's attractive spun metal frame, combined with gloss black, offers a sophisticated look complemented by its minimal size. Where other Bluetooth headset companies choose futuristic styles with sharp angles and obtrusive flashing lights, Motorola chose a rather elegant rectangular shape and small LED pin light. Now sure, David Beckham could look stylish with a foot long salami sandwich duct taped to the side of his head, but thankfully for the rest of us, the subtle design of this headset offers a high-tech style everyone can enjoy.
