Aliph, the maker of the original Jawbone wired headset, is ready to unveil their latest version fitted with Bluetooth technology.
Aliph first developed Jawbone after conducting research for Darpa, the U.S. Defense Department’s research arm. The goal of Aliph was to create a mobile phone headset capable of erasing background noise surrounding the wearer so the person on the other line hears only the conversation. If the noise cancellation on Jawbone is good enough for the military, imagine how well it should perform under normal everyday conditions.
With Jawbone, “Noise is Nothing”
Featured on the Jawbone Bluetooth headset is what Aliph calls Noise Shield. Noise Shield measures ambient noise around you and automatically enhances the incoming audio while shifting the volume to make all incoming calls crystal clear. “Aliph’s revolutionary approach uses 2 microphones and a sensor that together supply rich information about the acoustic environment and the speech respectively.”
Not only does Jawbone feature state-of-the-art noise cancellation, it is also very sleek looking. We have seen the Jawbone in both silver and red. The Jawbone Bluetooth headset has already turned a few heads making the list of Award Honorees at CES 2007.
The Jawbone Bluetooth headset has not been listed on Aliph’s main website yet but they have created a consumer product site, Jawbone.com. You can also watch a demo of it in action at YouTube.
The silver, red, and black Bluetooth Jawbones will be shipping shortly from Jawbone.com. You can preorder those headsets by emailing Aliph at buy@aliph.com by January 15th. Immediate purchase of the silver Jawbone is available at local Cingular Wireless stores.
