Bluetake Technology Co. really impressed us with its i-PHONO mini Bluetooth stereo headphones, but the best we can say about the company's BT400 G5 Bluetooth headset is that it's comfortable to wear. In fact, the headset's flexible ear hook is designed so well, the headset barely feels like it's on the ear.
But now that Bluetake has mastered comfort with its BT400 G5, the company should focus on all the other aspects of the headset's design for future models of the device.
It seems like sound quality was an afterthought for Bluetake with the BT400 G5, which affects both the headset's user and the person on the other end of the phone. In addition, the headset doesn't get close to the 30-foot range Bluetake advertises. It gets 20-feet at best, and that's being generous.
The 20 gram BT400 G5 is also on the large side at 82 mm long and 53 mm wide, and the headset's buttons are still hard to find when the device is on the ear.
We cannot recommend the BT400 G5 at the suggested retail price of $64.95, but consumers who are absolutely set on comfort above all else might consider buying the device at Amazon.com's price of $49.95.
