Bluetooth technology will continue to make your life easier as new applications continue to be developed. With the use of Bluetooth technology, your cell phone now has the ability to open your garage door from 450 feet away.
A group of entrepreneurs based in Boca Raton, Fl have worked together to develop cell phone software applications, using Bluetooth technology, which allow you to use your cell phone as a remote control all around the house.
Don Packham, CEO of BlueKey Wireless Systems Inc., and partners Fred Yentz and Bob DeVries of CellKey Technologies LLC, believe Bluetooth technology will revolutionize your cell phone, turning it into a universal remote capable of performing everyday household tasks.
The three business partners are negotiating with companies to sell or license the software. However, the biggest question is whether people will actually be interested in using their phones to open their garages, and how much they would be willing to pay for this feature.
Packham, Yentz, and DeVries are counting on two factors. First, they are hoping that people will actually want to use their cell phones for such practical purposes as these. Second, they are counting on the prospect that Bluetooth technology will eventually be capable of preforming further applications such as turning on garage and porch lights, and being able to function with almost any mobile device like an MP3 player or PDA.
