When I was asked by the owners of BlueTomorrow.com to review the BTA-809 and the BTH-820 or as I like to affectionately call them "the making my iPod and headphones chat from across the room thingy's", I didn't know that much about Bluetooth technology.GlobalSat iPod Wireless Bluetooth Entertainment Pack However, I do know a lot about sound and technology, and after I realized that everything that I could ever want to know about Bluetooth is cleverly hidden deep within the pages of the BlueTomorrow website; I went to back to school with a minor in reading and a major in Bluetooth. What I discovered is that Bluetooth is actually pretty amazing. There isn't enough time to discuss even a few of the reasons I believe that Bluetooth is amazing, however I found it's very easy to understand most of the basics.

Components

The BTA-809 or for the rest of us, the "iPod wireless audio gateway", is a technological portal that magically transports CD quality audio to your headphones for a truly wireless experience. The gateway is able to transport audio at 16 bit, 44.1 kHz because of the integration of Bluetooth wireless technology. Compared to basic Frequency Modulated transmitters (FM Radio), which can only achieve a sample rate of 22 kHz, the BTA-809 can provide twice the sound quality for about the same price.BTA-809 The BTA-809 is also naturally compatible with every iPod from the 3 rd generation to the most current color iPod, in all of its splendor. This made testing the GlobalSat Bluetooth wireless duo all the easier. During this review we will be discussing various aspects of the GlobalSat pair's performance and hopefully reading this will allow you to make a more informed decision should you consider purchasing this product.

Now, the BTH-820 stereo headset is pretty cool. Not only can it control my iPod via the iPod-like controls on the face of the unit, but it also enables me to answer calls from my Bluetooth enabled phone with the touch of a button thanks to its support for the Headset Profile (HSP) and the Hands-Free Profile (HFP). BTH-820This is so incredible. Imagine doing any activity where not being tied to multiple devices is a plus, such as hiking, biking or anything else you can think of. Since I engage in both frequently, imagine my delight at being able to bike down treacherous terrain while controlling the iPod and taking phone calls simultaneously from one lightweight device. As safe and convenient as that is, I can only begin to imagine all the undiscovered benefits of these devices. This GlobalSat pair has been added to my "to buy" list for sure.s

The BTH-820 Stereo Headset supports phone calls with any phone that uses the
Headset Profile (HSP) or the Hands-Free Profile (HFP). Since most
Bluetooth-enabled phones use at least one of these profiles, your phone should
be able to support phone calls with the BTH-820. Hope this helps!
