Yet Another Pair of Bluetooth Headphones

IOGEAR has joined the growing list of consumer electronics companies to introduce Bluetooth wireless headphones. IOGEAR is calling its new pair of headphones the Bluetooth Stereo Kit, which will feature Bluetooth stereo headphones and a Bluetooth adapter. The adapter plugs into any device that supports an audio 3.5mm or RCA jack and requires no additional software.

Bluetooth Stereo Kit

The Bluetooth Stereo Kit, which conveniently fits on top of the iPod mini, suggests IOGEAR is most likely trying to compete with the Logitech wireless headphones for iPod. However, IOGEAR’s Bluetooth Stereo Kit will work with a variety of different MP3 players, home stereos, TV sets and computers.

The headphones can also be bought separately, allowing them to act as a Bluetooth hands-free headset, which enables users to make and receive calls from any Bluetooth enabled cell phone. The headphones offer several features such as play, pause, stop and track skip buttons. The battery allows for about 6 hours of use between charges. Users can listen to music or talk on the phone up to 66 feet away, which is impressive considering most Bluetooth devices have a range of only 30 feet.

Miranda Su, vice president of sales and marketing for IOGEAR Inc. says, "with the continued interest in portable music players and the recent launch of the Motorola iPod ROKR phone, people are looking for ways to improve the way they listen to music and use cell phones. Many Bluetooth audio solutions on the market today are either too expensive or the quality is poor. With our high-quality Bluetooth Stereo Kit, users can now listen to music wirelessly, make cell phone calls or do both, at an affordable price."

The Bluetooth Stereo Kit is available for $179.99 or can be purchased separately with the headphones priced at $99.95, and audio adapter for $99.95. The stand-alone Bluetooth Headphones are compatible with any Bluetooth enabled devices with A2DP and AVRCP support.
