If you haven’t heard by now, the LG Chocolate (VX8500) mobile handset will be available from Verizon Wireless on 8/7/06. With the introduction of the Chocolate, Verizon Wireless adds to the growing list of music phones available in the U.S. But, what makes the Chocolate so exciting is the fact that it offers something almost all other music phones do not: Bluetooth stereo music.
The Chocolate is one of few U.S. phones to support Bluetooth A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile). A2DP enables Bluetooth stereo music which you can listen to wirelessly with Bluetooth headphones. Unfortunately, the Bluetooth A2DP doesn’t work with music on V CAST Music. You can only use A2DP with music you load on the Chocolate’s storage memory. Since this is the case, you’re definitely going to need a lot of memory.
It’s a good thing the Chocolate's memory is expandable through the use of SanDisk's MicroSD memory cards. MicroSD card’s range from 256MB ($29) to 2GB ($99). Without a memory card, the phones built-in memory can store a few CDs worth of music, about 50MB.
In addition to being a music phone, the Chocolate also offers VCAST Video and 3D Games, a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth hands-free communication and turn-by-turn navigation with audible voice directions to most U.S. addresses.
