Bluetooth stereo audio will continue to become a popular feature with many mobile devices due to increased support from the latest version of Windows Mobile 5.0 AKU 2. The new Windows operating system for mobile devices provides support for the Bluetooth A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution) Profile.
Devices that use the Bluetooth A2DP Profile allow you to listen to stereo audio without having to connect any wires. So, what is so great about the integration of Bluetooth A2DP into devices which use Windows Mobile 5.0 AKU 2?
All other previous versions of Windows Mobile operating systems have not offered support for the A2DP Bluetooth Profile, except for the Samsung SGH-i300, but Samsung added it on their own. This has all changed with Windows Mobile 5.0, as Bluetooth A2DP allows you to connect your mobile device with almost any other Bluetooth device that supports the A2DP Profile.
Just like previous versions of Windows Mobile, the Bluetooth connection wizard provides you with an overview about all available Bluetooth devices around you. So if you have a pair of Bluetooth headphones, your mobile device will automatically establish a connection with them. Then, if you open Windows Media Player 10 Mobile and play one of your favorite songs, the music will be automatically sent to your Bluetooth headphones.
From everything we have seen and heard, it really appears Microsoft has gone to great lengths to ensure everything works properly as far as support and integration of Bluetooth A2DP. Pairing Bluetooth devices is a snap and completely integrated into the standard Bluetooth wizard. Also, your mobile device will recognize if your headphones are turned off or on.
Overall, we give the new Windows Mobile 5.0 and its support for Bluetooth A2DP a big thumb’s up! You can expect to see devices with Windows Mobile 5.0 in early 2006.
