The Sony VAIO VGP-BMS80 Bluetooth Laser Mouse recently popped up on the Bluetooth SIG’s list of Qualified Bluetooth products. Initial reports indicate that the mouse is designed to work with both PCs and also with Sony’s PlayStation 3 video game console. Judging by its unique design (especially for a mouse), we think Sony’s obvious focus was to create a mouse which will double as a PS3 remote when using the game console’s web browsing feature. Sony’s new Bluetooth mouse also features an integrated Optical Finger Sensor as opposed to the standard mouse scroll wheel – this may take some time getting used to. The mouse’s lightweight and compact design certainly is different for a mouse, but its emphasis is on mobility. However, we have to admit that it doesn’t look very ergonomic at all, so we’re a little skeptical about how easy and comfortable it will be to use. Sony has yet to announce any official U.S. release date for the VAIO VGP-BMS80 Bluetooth Laser Mouse.
