Wireless Cables, Inc, a California corporation who manufactures and sells Bluetooth based wireless cable-replacements, recently announced its newest next-generation Bluetooth device, the AIRcable Host XR. The AIRcable Host XR is a USB Bluetooth Dongle for wireless communication. Equipped with a powerful Bluetooth transmitter, the AIRcable Host XR can extend the Bluetooth range of most Bluetooth devices by up to 30 km (32,808.398 yards or 18.6 miles)!
Depending on the antenna you use determines how far the extended range will be. Using a 9 dBi omni-directional antenna, the extended range is up to 2 km. With an 18 dBi directional antenna, the range is up to 10 km. Using the Host XR in conjunction with the AIRcable Industrial XR, the Bluetooth range is extended by up to 30 km.
So what are the benefits of an extended Bluetooth range?
With an extended Bluetooth range, you will no longer be limited to the standard 30 ft range of most Bluetooth devices. You will be free to walk from room to room or even outside when talking on your Bluetooth headset without losing connection. You will be able to print to a Bluetooth printer from down the hall. How about listening to music wirelessly by the pool while your computer is still in your house. You can even control the media player with the buttons on your Bluetooth stereo headphones. These are just a few examples of what you will be able to do with an extended Bluetooth range.
The AIRcable Host XR needs no external power and its aluminum case reduces interference while increasing sensitivity. The AIRcable Host XR retails for $129.99.
